Thanks for publishing my photograph, @edu_post. It’s a great story for National Coming Out Day. Thank you Becky Tapley (@becky_tapley) for being you. As I like to say, being yourself is hard enough anyway, and as Walt Whitman said, everyone else is already taken.

As Becky found out in her experience, I also found in my experience that there’s an audience ready and waiting to help everyone live in their own identity. In the medical profession, it’s our duty to help everyone live in their own identity. It’s why I’m here.

I also get to say that the health system I am proud to be a part of supports me and every lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender human in being themselves, too, in the providing and receiving of medical care.

Itโ€™s National Coming Out Day. It may not be apparent that there are many places to come out if you are LGBTQ. Thereโ€™s your family,Source: How Two Students’ Warmth and Support Helped Me Come Out at School
