Photo Friday: National Menorah and Occupy Freedom Plaza, Diversity of ideas in Washington, DC

This week’s photograph is a pair. One, of the National Chanukkah Menorah framing the White house. The other, taken about 500 feet away, of a rainbow flag celebrating LGBT diversity, framing Freedom plaza and the Occupy camp that exists there (The DC Occupy Camps are among the last ones standing in the United States). Behind the Occupy camp include the Department of Treasury, and the Willard Hotel, where the term “lobbying” came from.

Both scenes were peaceful.
