Another of the lectures from #LCB18 (see: Adventures in Metabolic Health and Diabetes Reversal, Low Carb Breckenridge, Breckenridge, CO USA) are now posted on YouTube, this one from Andrew Mente, PhD (@AndrewMente), one of the lead authors of the PURE Study (which I wrote about previously: Just Read: Validation of Low(er) Carb High(er) Fat Diets: The PURE Study and CVD/Overall Death)

It was great to see Andrew in person and he lays out a compelling case for non-support of a 10% of calories threshold of saturated fat, which has been the recommendation for over 50 years. The challenge of this threshold is that it stimulated other, more unhealthy behaviors, like this, placing an American Heart Association seal on cereals for which sugar is the primary ingredient (photos from my local grocery store)
