Recipe time
This recipe, like all the others, is healthy-fat, low carbohydrate and has
- No grains (refined or whole)
- No added sugar
- No vegetable oils
This means this food is unlikely (or will not) raise blood sugar, promote visceral fat production, or significantly stimulate insulin secretion.
I prefer to call it a fat “bundle” rather than a “bomb” – I don’t endorse the concept of a diet war. We are in a health peace – people should choose the approaches that support their overall metabolic health.
Note about macronutrient intake on a low-carbohydrate diet
As with many experts, I don’t believe in the idea of specific macronutrient targets.
Specifically:
- A low-carbohydrate diet is not a high-protein diet
- A low-carbohydrate diet is not a high-fat diet
- A low-carbohydrate diet is a low-carbohydrate diet
This concept confuses a lot of physicians and lay-people alike, and it’s really important because it shapes intellectual and other biases that cloud the interpretation of science. If there are questions about the above, feel free to pose them in the comments.
