I read (again) recently that most humans don’t like change / new things. My generation of physicians love change. We had no choice but to love change, after witnessing the worst ethical crises in the medical profession’s history during our training. That specific time has past, however, we/I still see a short-term memory span when it comes to meeting people where they are. This is why we are all here.

The Human Rights Campaign (@HRC) has a new president, Alphonso David (@AlphonsoDavid), who I was fortunate to be in a room with, along with additional incredible civil rights leaders recently in Washington, DC.

My photos are below.

As a new leader he has ambitious plans to evolve our nation’s largest organization fighting for LGBTQ rights equality, which you can read about here: See: HRC President Alphonso David on the Work Ahead | Human Rights Campaign

I positioned myself in the back of the room for the photography, because this is the best vantage point from which to see a transformation begin. Enjoy the view, and the future, which as we say in Washington, has to start somewhere, and it’s usually here.
