Slide – Few Americans Vegetarian or Vegan

5% of Americans say they are vegetarians, unchanged from 2012, 3% say they are vegans, little changed from 2% in 2012news.gallup.com/poll/238328/snapshot-few-americans-vegeta…

I am in the 94 %. I have spent time in the 3 % or 5 % for short spans.

Metabolically healthy eating patterns can exist across 100% of the spectrum – with real food performing best. Anything is better than the standard american diet (SAD), we know how that’s performing.

Slide – Explicit Weight Bias in Medicine greater than LGBTQ

A study of medical students showed expicit (openly acknowledged, as opposed to unconscious) bias against these groups of people relative to white people. Explicit bias against obese people was greater than that against lesbian women, gay men, poor people. Few Americans today will openly express bias against the remaining groups on the slide.

I used to be a member of two of these openly discriminated groups in medicine. Now I am proudly a member of one 🏳️‍🌈.

I’m thankful to have experienced what it’s like to be told how to exist by fellow doctors, because I know as well as anyone how this approach (fails 100% of the time.

Photo – Recognizing Authentic Humanity is the Best Success

The medical profession learned, in the most profound ethical crises across multiple generations (LGBTQ health, HIV, transgender person care), that people living in control of their health and life destiny across the spectrum of their identities is the best success. I see parallels between the profession’s understanding of LGBTQ and LCHF. I wish this opportunity of understanding on every nurse and doctor in their lifetime.

Isn’t this century fantastic? I think so 🙂 .

It may be that computers will soon diagnose better than doctors. But the facts fed to computers will still have to be the result of intimate, individual recognition of the patient.A Fortunate Man: The Story of a Country Doctor, John Berger, 1966
