This week’s photograph, taken in Washington, DC (of course) is of three women who are making history:
- Brianna Titone (@BriannaforHD27), Colorado HD27, the first Colorado State Legislator who is transgender
- Monika Nemeth (@TheMonikaNemeth), ANC3F Commissioner, the first elected official in Washington, DC who is transgender
- Danica Roem (@pwcdanica), Delegate, 13th District, Virginia House of Delegates, the first House of Delegates member who is transgender
It was a delight to be in their presence and watch them lead.
I’m so happy this century turned out as great as I thought it would 🙂 .
History not only because of who they are, what they do, too
We did it.
We just voted to expand Medicaid to 3,700 of my constituents and more than 300,000 uninsured Virginians.
This is the product of the votes you cast, the doors you knocked, the phone calls you made, the donations you contributed and the word you spread.
Thank you!!! pic.twitter.com/1nHuBRkX9m— Danica Roem (@pwcdanica) May 31, 2018
They were joined by Lt. Governor of Virginia, Justin Fairfax (@LGJustinFairfax). Enjoy the photos.
