In addition to being the nation’s capital, Washington, DC also has the most visible and numerous (by proportion) LGBTQ communities in the United States. It shows. Visibility is not an afterthought here, it’s the default.

In the last century, they used to say this about another State; in this century it’s As DC Goes So Goes the Nation.
