Thanks again, @DCPolicyCenter, for publishing my photo alongside this excellent analysis by Dr. Bruce Ormond Grant (@BOrmondGrant).
The photograph, by the way, was taken on a Big Bus Tour of Washington, DC, commissioned by @CapitalPrideDC and @DCTransPride365 for this year’s volunteers (also called producers by the organizations).
So, although the photograph doesn’t illustrate the subject matter, it’s connected to eliminating disparities among vulnerable populations. On the other hand, if the beauty of this part of Washington, DC depicted in the image encourages people to read the analysis, then the use of the photo is successful. I will still work to obtain images that show the diversity of Washington, DC’s challenges better.

Speaking of disparities, the analysis presents important data about the inequalities people face based on their geographic destiny, or lack thereof, and collateral challenges, such as transportation and housing. I have to say that the Policy Center’s analyses are now building on each other in such a way that are really world class in my mind in translating what’s happening in the most important learning lab (Washington, DC) in the United States today.
