Thanks for using my photograph to adorn this exhaustive piece on the opioid crisis situation in Washington, DC and Maryland, by @mattpembleton.

As is the case with the work of @DCPolicyCenter, I get to learn more about my photographs after they are taken, and I appreciate it. The photograph itself was taken in the Trinidad neighborhood of Washington, DC, which is undergoing tremendous change along with the rest of our city.

As I’ve posted previously, I ❤️ DC, and this is happening here, too.

Policymakers and the public health community in the D.C. region have been on the front lines of addressing the rising number of opioid overdose deaths.
