Because I have been researching the data on diets and the environment, I took the time to update this chart with the most recent data (as of December, 2017).

It clearly shows the continuing of an upward trend in the temperature of our nation’s capital. As I’ve posted on this previously, health and life impacts are significant, from the daily living of managing allergies to the changing dates of cherry blossoms.

Climate change is a threat to human health.

How else to mitigate climate change besides diet

The science about what we eat and impact on the environment is becoming less and less clear because the health impacts of various diets are being re-evaluated.

There’s a helpful carbon calculator, that I have not personally validated (so if it’s not valid, please let me know), which provides insights into other approaches:

Take one less transcontinental flight

Pursue non-pharmacologic approaches to health

This one is a bit of a vicious circle because changing climate affects pollen distribution which means more allergies & related medications, and more carbon in the atmosphere.
