On Day 3 of #LCB18, there was deeper exploration of topics from the evidence around saturated fat and CVD, red meat in the diet, and current pharmacologic approaches.

Did I mention also @AndrewMente from the PURE Study 🙂 (I reviewed the study in a few posts at this link)

There were also many gasp-worthy moments as my twitterfeed will reveal:

My diagnosis of this phenomenon is that there is great respect for the human body and the way it adapts to its environment, often unappreciated and under emphasized (at times) by the medical profession. The audience wants to understand how things work – this is not a dialogue about hacking biology.

I am also really impressed with the number of physicians who have taken time from their very busy practices because they have the desire to (a) know and (b) help their patients know more about health and their own biology. I sensed that for some, this drive and the empowerment that comes with it attenuates physician burnout.
