Thanks for publishing my photo of the 73 cents mural, by @ReginaHoliday, American Journal of Kidney Diseases (@AJKDOnline).
It accompanies a written piece by Regina describing the story behind the mural. Actually there are about 40 stories embedded in the mural. If you click through to the other photos, there are clues in the captions.
The mural is difficult to photograph because it is so big. That says something about the dedication of the artist.
Even though the photograph was taken in 2011, I just visited the mural a few weeks ago, and it looked as new as the day it was completed. Whenever I attempt to explain just a few of the stories embedded within it, I experience emotions that make it hard for me to complete the explanation.

That also says something about the artist. And the patient. Which we will all be one day.
✌️
I painted this 70′ × 17′ mural on the back of a gas station in Washington DC with a borrowed ladder and donated paints. I finished it a few months after Fred’s death from kidney cancer.
