Thanks for publishing my photograph, @PalatinateUK, the student newspaper of Durham University (@durham_uni). I always support university journalism :).

The photograph was taken with a view of historic U Street, NW, Washington, DC, where you can see 14th Street, NW in the background, and Howard University in the distance. There’s a beautiful @AniekanReloaded mural adorning the building at 15th Street and U, NW, celebrating seniors in our nation’s capital. If you know the history of this street, it’s very much an iconic view of places where the future was born, including parts of the modern-day transgender person rights movement. Isn’t Washington, DC beautiful?

In terms of the policy discussed in the article, I don’t know all of the nuances of the policy being discussed. I am a little confused though, by the part about GP’s (close in function to the USA’s family medicine specialists) being allowed to ask teens about sexual orientation. Feel free to review yourself and add any info in the comments. The combined medical and nursing professions of the United States have clearly stated our support for all humans living successfully in their authentic identities. Such a thing wasn’t true in the 20th century.

In a way, the rainbow flag over U street is a reminder of how much the world is learning to love better.

It’s why I always say I love this century 🙂 .

You can see more rainbow and American flag photos at this link. All are @CreativeCommons licensed, of course. Enjoy.

Are the new NHS guidelines regarding sexuality too invasive? Not for Thomas Pymer.
