Thanks for publishing my photograph, @TechCrunch. It’s not the most viewed photograph in my collection, at over 76,000 views.
The comments below the article, however, are inappropriate and I’ve reported them to the publication. I haven’t previously revoked a license because of the comments, so this would be the first time, depending on the response I get.
As I’ve explained many times before, I make all of my photographs freely usable under a creative commons license because I like the people and subjects in them and think the world will as well. Any piece that takes away from that destroys the intent of the photograph, and therefore the license has to be revoked. It’s only fair. Especially since love always wins 🙂 .
As Dale Carnegie once quoted: “If the author doesn’t like people, people won’t like his or her stories.” – we’re all here to help people like each other and each others’ work.
Incidentally/related to this, Kaiser Permanente is a signatory on the amicus brief in support of Gavin Grimm, and recently affirmed its policy of non-discrimination on the basis of gender and sexual orientation. It’s what the highest performing health systems in the world do.
