
I recently got to go back and find some of the items that were personally recommended to me by the National Museum of African American History and Culture (see this post: Finding LGBTQ Material at the @NMAAHC – a helpful twitter dialogue), as part of a visit to the museum with fellow physicians, members (patients) and community colleagues in the Permanente Medicine (@PermanenteDocs) family.
Along the way I found a lot of other powerful moments. Including those photographs below.
I also, just today, read this story, (thanks to physician community colleague @askdrfitz), The White Man in That Photo, about Australian Peter Norman, who was erased from history at San Jose State University’s display, but is restored at the @NMAAHC:
