Photo Friday: Washington, DC Night Lights

This week’s photograph was taken from the roof of a new building The Hepburn (@TheHepburnDC), which is adjacent to a very famous building, the Washington, DC Hilton. Both structures have figured prominently in LGBTQ history in Washington; The Hepburn on this night was hosting the volunteers of Washington, DC’s Capital Pride (@CapitalPrideDC) which includes Capital TransPride (@TransPrideDC).

The photographs shows what a growing city looks like. Migration to D.C. remains stable, but plummets for rest of region – D.C. Policy Center“>Washington, DC continues to grow at a rate that’s outpacing the immediate metro area + continuing the trend that’s stopped in other major urban areas, migration into, rather than out of. That means more people and more lights. You can see the Masonic Temple on the right of the image; other perspectives are below.
