Thanks for publishing my photo @MsMagazine. It was taken the day that Edith Windsor’s work changed everything. I am so happy I could be there and see it happen.

I took this video of the moment the announcement reached the people waiting in front of the supreme court – what it looks like when 70+ years of discrimination is lifted.

Edith Windsor, LGBTQ and civil rights activist, died at 88 in Manhattan on Tuesday. Her landmark Supreme Court case led to the striking down of the Defense of Marriage Act—making marriage equality the law of the land.
