Hello Barbara/Contemporary Families,

Thanks for the work you’ve done to dispel myths about bathrooms, and for using my photos.

I would extend your argument a bit farther to point out that these are not bathroom bills and shouldn’t be labeled as such. They are exclusion from society bills and we have a lot more than 40 years of experience with those.

It’s is actually recommended that the term “bathroom bill” not be used because of this. You can learn more from the helpful GLAAD publication “Debunking the Bathroom Bill Myth” (I wrote about its helpfulness here https://www.tedeytan.com/2016/05/04/19902 )
