What Performance Improvement Looks Like, Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States

These are some posters from the Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States Ambulatory Surgery Center Performance Improvement Summit, recently hosted at the Kaiser Permanente Center for Total Health (@KPTotalHealth)

Several hundred health professionals, including physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, including members of our Labor Management Partnership (@LMPTalk), came here to share, show their work, and keep getting better.

If you don’t know what malignant hyperthermia is, it’s a very scary, life-threatening condition that can happen among patients exposed to general anesthesia. Even seeing the name of the condition makes my blood pressure go up, and yet the teams here are working collaboratively to manage it before it takes someone’s life.

I’m posting the photos of the posters because what they show me is the care and compassion that teams across disciplines bring to a discipline of always getting better. Partnership works. Enjoy.
