I am excited to in the doc contingent part of this, but of course I will also be walking for road safety and to yoga (will I participate in that? we’ll see). May 5, 10:00 am, Stanton Park, Washington, DC, USA 🙂
Here is what Jane’s Walk is about:
Jane’s Walk celebrates the ideas and legacy of urbanist Jane Jacobs by getting people out exploring their neighbourhoods and meeting their neighbours. Free walking tours held on the first weekend of May each year are led by locals who want to create a space for residents to talk about what matters to them in the places they live and work. Since its inception in Toronto in 2007, Jane’s Walk has expanded rapidly. In May of 2011, 511 walks were held in 75 cities in 15 countries worldwide.
This walk, on the day before UN Global Road Safety Week, will take us from historic Capitol Hill (Stanton Park, 4th & Massachusetts NE – meet at the statue!) to Constitution Gardens (Constitution Avenue and 17th Street, NW, along the northern edge of the National Mall)Â for free Yoga on the Mall! Â All are welcome – bikes, dogs, strollers, everyone!
