Inappropriate contact between students and teachers is at the root of the legislation
While we are quite not yet here in health care, one of our planning assumptions for the upcoming Technology Demonstration Day “Social media in Health Care Delivery” is that physicians and nurses will not be able to friend their patients on a network like Facebook.
This could be for a host of reasons, from ethical ones (as alluded to in the story above), as well as workflow ones.
Therefore we are pursuing a bit of the unicorn that Susannah Fox referred to in the e-patients.net blog – clinical integration into social networking in a safe and sane way.
