Photo Friday: Crowdsourcing in analog, Washington, DC

There is so much talk about the great crowdsourcing database in the sky (call it an EHR, a social network, it has many names) that will solve all of our communication problems, that I like scenes like this, which I encountered yesterday on a walking meeting with David Haddad (@haddadda) near Dupont Circle.

Notice how tightly packed everyone is around the table. In a city where many employers say “you can work from anywhere,” people choose to be close to other people. That’s where crowdsourcing of ideas happens, at least here, in Washington, which I consider as the most social city in the United States. I think it’s the way it happens everywhere, too, don’t you?
