Photo Friday: The English Know How to Measure Outcomes

This week’s photograph was taken in the Birmingham, UK, New Street Train station. I am here for a bit doing some work on behalf of Kaiser Permanente, and this notice struck me in terms of the amount of data that is presented to the public about the performance of the trains.

I think it’s impressive – is there an equivalent in the United States? Is there an equivalent in health care in the United States? In the context of things like the community health data initiative, couldn’t we have an equivalent? I am learning about what the National Health Service does and I am impressed.

A few more photos below including the beautiful city centre. Cheers!
